THE FILM REVIEW
Mamma Mia is a love and adventure film based on the
songs of an ancient group called ABBA. Is it set on a island called “Kalokairi”
in Greece and tells the story of a 20 year old girl that is to get married and
wants to know who her father is before doing it. The leading role is played by
Amanda Seyfried. The film also stars Maryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth
and Christine Baranski.
The main characters are Sophie, the girl that is going
to get married and Donna, her mother (Maryl Streep). The story begins when
Sophie reads her mother’s old diary and discovers that her father could be 3
different people, so she finally decides to invite all of them to the wedding.
They appear and her mother thinks that they came to ruin her daughter’s wedding
and tries to chase them out.
What I really enjoyed was the setting, those islands,
the sea, Nature… I liked the stage a lot also. Those actors and actresses are
absolutely amazing!
In my opinion, it’s a musical that is suitable for all
ages, from the youngest to the oldest. It makes you laugh, cry and all what you
can feel. I highly recommend this film.
